Instructional design

Instructional Designer

   How I design effective instruction:

  • I apply frameworks like ADDIE, Backward Design, UDL, Bloom’s Taxonomy Andragogy and Pedagogy principles  for structure learning.

  • I ensure alignment between objectives, activities, and assessments

  • I create structured, scaffolded lessons to support step-by-step learning

  • I develop interactive and multimedia content using different digital tools such as Google docs, Canva , Gamification, Canvas LMS, Articulate Storyline 360

  • I incorporate formative and summative assessments with timely feedback.

  • Example: Designed a full online course in Canvas as part of my capstone project with aligned lessons and assessments.

Curriculum Developer

How I design structured learning systems:

  • I define course-level goals and long-term learning outcomes aligned with learner needs.

  • I design curriculum maps and module sequencing to ensure logical progression

    • Story board, lesson plans, course outline.

  • I ensure alignment across lessons, units, and assessments for a cohesive learning experience

  • I plan assessment strategies across the entire course, including formative and summative evaluation.

  • I design learning pathways that move from foundational to advanced concepts

  • Example: Designed a full online course in Canvas, aligning curriculum, learning objectives, and assessments with Washington State Science Learning Standards (NGSS-based) to ensure coherent progression and measurable learning outcomes.

Learning Experience / UX Design Approach

How I design engaging, learner-centered experiences:

  • I apply design thinking principles, starting with empathy to understand learner needs, challenges, and context

  • I define clear learning problems and user needs to guide effective design

  • I focus on engagement, usability, and interaction design to create intuitive experiences

  • I design scenario-based, real-world learning experiences to improve relevance and retention

  • I create interactive and accessible layouts (click, reveal, guided flow) using UDL principles

  • I develop prototypes and continuously iterate based on feedback to improve learning outcomes

  • Example: Designed interactive learning modules using Canvas and  Storyline 360. Created classroom materials with clear navigation, guided interactions, and accessible layouts to support diverse learners.

My Integrated Approach

Bringing it all together

  • I design end-to-end learning experiences:
    ➝ Curriculum (what to teach)
    ➝ Instruction (how to teach)
➝ Lxd and Uxd Experience (how learners engage)

  • I combine Pedagogy/Andragogy, technology, and user experience design.

  • I translate classroom needs into scalable digital learning solutions

Applied Learning Approaches & Theories

Pedagogy vs. Andragogy comparison.png

Example -Pedagogy

Designed and developed a Canvas course for 6th grade learners, applying pedagogical principles to create guided, structured and engaging learning experience.

Example -Andragogy

Designed and developed a course for school teachers as adult learners, leveraging Andragogical principles to support self-directed, scenario based and practical learning.
